Centrifugal glass wool must be stacked in a dry indoor place without stagnant water. It is strictly forbidden to step on, press or squeeze the thermal insulation material to cause deformation during transportation, and it is not allowed to unpack the box in case causing the material to be scattered and damp. The technology used in air duct insulation is now introduced as follows.

(1) The civil structure on site has been completed, and there is no large amount of water for construction.

(2) The installation quality of air ducts and components meet the quality standards, and the parts that need anti-corrosion have been painted.

(3) The construction of the air duct, components and equipment insulation works shall be carried out after the air duct system has passed the light leakage, air leakage test and the quality inspection.

How to apply centrifugal glass wool to the insulation of air-conditioning ducts1

Operation process

  1. The heat preservation nails are fixed on the surface of the air duct by the bonding effect of the adhesive. Therefore, before bonding the heat preservation nails, the dust, oil and garbage on the duct wall should be wiped off, and then the adhesive should be applied to the pipe wall and on the bonding surface of the insulation nail, stick it on later, after the nails are attached, they should wait 12 to 24 hours before spreading centrifugal glass wool, otherwise the bonding strength cannot be guaranteed. The selected adhesive and extrusion agent should have the properties of non-corrosion, fast curing, non-aging, high bonding strength and non-shedding in a humid environment.
  2. The density of heat preservation nails on all sides of the air duct should be evenly distributed to prevent uneven distribution and concentrated stress, so that the heat preservation nails fall off and affect the quality of heat preservation and produce condensed water. The bottom surface is not less than 16 per square meter, the side surface is not less than 10, and the top surface is not less than 8. The edge of the first row of insulation nails to the wind pipe or centrifugal glass wool should be less than 120 mm.
  3. The cutting surface of the insulation material should be accurate, and the cutting surface should be flat. When cutting the material, the short surface should be placed on the large surface at the overlap of the horizontal and vertical surfaces.
  4. Spreading the centrifugal glass wool board so that the longitudinal and transverse seams are staggered. The splicing is not allowed to be set at the flange. Small pieces of insulation material should be spread on a horizontal surface as much as possible. 5-8mm overlap between each piece of centrifugal wool glass wool.
  5. An additional insulation layer is added to the insulation layer at the flange of the air pipe, and a wooden strip is added between the air pipe and the air pipe bracket to prevent the cold bridge from frosting at the flange and the contact point between the air pipe and the bracket and generating condensate.
  6. Because centrifugal glass wool has strong water absorption performance, once it gets damp, its thermal insulation performance is greatly reduced, the surface is frosted, and it gets damp further, forming a vicious circle. Therefore, attention must be paid to the construction of the moisture-proof and vapor barrier. The outer surface of the aluminum foil of the centrifugal glass wool should be cleaned before the aluminum foil tape is attached to the joint.
  7. When wind pipe insulation encounters regulating valves and fire dampers, pay attention to the position of the regulating shaft or regulating handle, and mark the opening and closing marks, so that the operation is flexible and convenient.
